What was your inspiration for the game?

For a long time, I wanted to make a colour-based game. Processing suits this down to the ground. A few weeks' thought, and I had my game planned.

Did you run into any challenges while creating the game?

I wasted about 3 days in the middle of development trying to add hand-crafted levels into the game. They were error-prone and boring, but I kept soldiering on until I stopped development to make Cruithne for miniLD36. With my level-making experiences in it, I decided to scrap hand-crafted levels, and just stick with randomly generated.

Do you have any future plans for the game?

I have a few ideas for new block types and shapes (falling blocks are already half-implemented, and I had a few similar ideas). I would have added high scores, but my experience of File IO in Infinite Midget Romp put me off (sound familiar?).

EDIT: I'm still fiddling with the game, adding small things here and there to make it feel a bit more polished. I've done a few little adjustments; if you have any more requests I'm all ears :D

How are other people allowed to use your source?

You can add to the game, just have a look around, or do a complete overhaul. You can upload any edited versions here on StaticVoidGames, as long as you say that you based it off of this game's source. You can't reupload anything on any other websites.

How could your game be improved by others?

Add new blocks, play around with the scoring system, add high scores; just enjoy yourself!

BronyBlocks is now in full working order!

It has been broken a long time. It worked fine for me, but somewhere in the uploading process, something went wrong. With far too much hoking and poking, I got it to upload properly (thanks to @Kevin!) but it was still broken. Minim, the library Processing uses for sound, was playing games with us. So, to save another week of fiddling, I've removed sound from the game. It now works fine for everybody! Now you can enjoy the wondrousness of BronyBlocks; more colourful than a Skittle factory, and more fun than working in one.

G'luck with all of your brony-blocking adventures!

@jojo Thanks! Haha. That video really is spreading! (I was the 11th view :D in before the rest)

Yeah. I know that it's too hard to lose. I'm still tinkering away with it the odd time. The score system needs changing, but it shouldn't be too hard to do. I'll upload an updated version some time.

In the beginning I envisioned the blocks falling every few seconds, and if they hit the bottom, you lose. But, alas, it never came to be. It would be a little awkward the way the board is  set up atm.

And I'm sure I'll give sound another go. But the sounds weren't that great in the first place :D

Nice game! I liked the juiciness (I watched that video too).

Only, this game has one problem, it's too hard to lose. I came to the ninth level without the feeling it got any harder. I think it would be fun if there was a game mode where the blocks pop up, and when the screen is full, you loose. Your score doesn't get lower by the time, but the longer you player, the harder it gets.

Anyway, I liked your game. Sad that the sound system doesn't work.
